SCENE: Stadium concourse under fluorescent white, shoulder to shoulder, blonde wigs in hands and stuffed in pockets, everyone mid-stride toward the turnstiles wearing short sleeves and clean boots.
Erling Haaland cut his hair before the season opener and about four thousand people had to decide what to do with the Viking wig they bought in July. The buzzcut showed up on social media hours before kickoff, the feed split between people mourning the long blond era and people checking whether the new look worked with short sleeves.
It did. Clean sides, fresh boots, the kind of reset that makes you wonder if your own hair is doing too much. The wigs came off fast, some people left them in the car, some wore them anyway as a bit, most just showed up looking normal for the first time all summer.
