P & J seize the challenge and tuck away the map for safekeeping. As they are leaving the store, Mr. Bauer's bony hand clamps down on J's arm as he utters: "Leave this sanctuary, and you'll be fair game. 'The Order' will stop at nothing to claim the artifact. You'll either succeed and destroy the device or seal our doom." J shakes off the man's grasp, as they make a hasty exit, leaving a warning echoing behind: "They're everywhere. Trust no one."

The chimps sprint back to the safety of their hotel, their hearts racing with every step. Exhaustion claims them as they hit the pillows. The next day, they try to process the surreal events of the previous evening. Dismissing it as a joke, they decide to return to the store and confront Mr. Bauer. But when they arrive, the store is shuttered. The neighbors reveal a shocking truth: the book store has been closed for 30 years, and Mr. Bauer's whereabouts are unknown.

As they aimlessly wander the streets in disbelief, P's unease grows. He can't shake the feeling of being watched, but dismisses it as paranoia. That is, until they're confronted by a towering figure in a black trench coat, who's been stalking them for hours. The brothers narrowly escape capture, using their agility they leap over a dumpster and send it crashing into their pursuer. As they flee, they realize Mr. Bauer's warnings were real. They need help, but who can they turn to?
